The next game in the intern series will be called Intern RPG. It will feature a unique battle system where you manage 10 interns attacking boss after boss in a series of arena battles.

I’m thinking about doing a Flash version of Angry Interns once I get the gameplay nailed down a bit more. Getting the game out on Kongregate, Mochigames and Newgrounds would be great for distribution. After that, I’m looking into doing an iOS and Android version using Corona…but I don’t really like that development environment so I’ll go Chrome and Flash first.

I initially created the doors as a way to control the flow of interns between departments. Later I added the hotkeys for moving interns with arrows and the micromanagement mode. The combination of these features kind of made the use of doors obsolete. So, to give doors a function I added a crunch time mode.

Building capacity issues(the DOM) make free moving interns a potential safety hazard. Therefore, we are working on an intern clustering algo that could potentially support 5,10 or even 20x current capacity. If successful, you will be able to recruit a prebundled package of interns from the local university.

I am adding a tip/update bar. This will update every new day to reflect significant events. If nothing interesting is happening it will show a random tip. There will also be a button to get a new tip. I think this system will be a lot less friction than publishing some guide somewhere and hoping people take 10+ mins reading it before jumping into the game.

You can now use the shift key to toggle on/off the micro mode. While in micro hovering over a department or using your arrow keys both result in 1 intern movement per.
